If you are disabled, and cannot travel, you may appear through a representative, either a friend, relative or lawyer. If your representative is not a lawyer, or an employee of a lawyer, your representative must bring the hearing officer a written letter, signed by you, saying that you want that person to represent you. If, however, you have no representative available and wish to participate directly in the hearing, a telephone hearing may be scheduled for you. You will have to provide medical documentation that states you cannot travel to the regular hearing location. When you request a hearing, you should tell the interviewer or indicate in your letter or fax that you are disabled and want a telephone hearing. You will then be contacted about where to submit your medical documentation and about telephone hearing procedures.

No, it is not required that you have a representative. However, you may have a lawyer, relative, or friend at the hearing to assist you in explaining why the agency's decision about your case is wrong. If you want someone to represent you who is not a lawyer, written authorization must be filed with OAH as cited in 18 NYCRR 358-3.9. If you think you need a lawyer, you may be able to get one at no cost by calling your local Legal Aid, Legal Services Office, or local Bar Association.

If you want to win everything, you have to be prepared to lose everything

First, know your goal. Start by writing down your major goal. Your major goal is the ultimate thing you'd like to see happen. For example, "I want to make honor roll," or "I want to get fit enough to make the cross-country team," or even, "I want to play in the Olympics" are all major goals because they're the final thing the goal setter wants to see happen (obviously, some goals take longer and require more work than others). It's OK to dream big. That's how people accomplish stuff. You just have to remember that the bigger the goal, the more work it takes to get there.

Now consider passive-aggressive behavior. If you communicate in a passive-aggressive manner, you may say yes when you want to say no. You may be sarcastic or complain about others behind their backs. Rather than confront an issue directly, you may show your anger and feelings through your actions or negative attitude. You may have developed a passive-aggressive style because you're uncomfortable being direct about your needs and feelings.

Everybody wants what feels good. Everyone wants to live a carefree, happy and easy life, to fall in love and have amazing sex and relationships, to look perfect and make money, and be popular and well-respected and admired and a total baller to the point that people part like the Red Sea when you walk into the room.

Because if you want the benefits of something in life, you have to also want the costs. If you want the beach body, you have to want the sweat, the soreness, the early mornings, and the hunger pangs. If you want the yacht, you have to also want the late nights, the risky business moves, and the possibility of pissing off one person or ten thousand.

On the other hand, Ben always took care of family money matters, and he never talked about the details with Shirley. No one but Ben knew that his life insurance policy was in a box in the closet or that the car title and deed to the house were filed in his desk drawer. Ben never expected that his wife would have to take over. His lack of planning has made a tough job even tougher for Shirley.

The answer to this question may be different for every family. Remember, this is a starting place. You may have other information to add. For example, if you have a pet, you will want to include the name and address of your veterinarian. Include complete information about:

There are many different types of legal documents that can help you plan how your affairs will be handled in the future. Many of these documents have names that sound alike, so make sure you are getting the documents you want. Also, State laws vary, so find out about the rules, requirements, and forms used in your State.

If the parties reach a settlement, usually called a Stipulation of Settlement, the settlement will be put into writing, signed by the parties, and then so-ordered by the judge. This settlement is then binding on the parties who signed it, meaning it is a legal contract that the court can enforce against them. You must therefore be very careful to read the agreement, understand it, and be certain that you will be able to do everything you have promised to do in it.

No. If you do not reach a settlement agreement in mediation, you do not lose your right to have your case heard by a judge. Even if all parties initially agree to meditation and then, once in mediation, decide they no longer want to mediate their case because they cannot reach an agreement or for any other reason, any party can ask for a judge to hear their case instead of a mediator, provided the parties have not yet signed a settlement agreement.

You can have witnesses at your trial. A witness can be you, someone who knows something about the dispute, and/or someone with a lot of knowledge about the underlying issue of the lawsuit (i.e. an expert witness). All witnesses must swear and affirm to tell the truth before the Court. If a witness does not want to testify or give records to help with the case, you can ask the court for a subpoena.

VW: You have to do what you have to do. Things happen all the time. You have to be able to keep the ball rolling and deal with certain situations as they come. You really can't be bracing yourself for what might happen. You just have to be prepared and when it happens you have to move forward. We're definitely moving forward. The ball is going to continue to roll no matter how you slice it - the ball will roll. The ball is still rolling.

VW: They're getting it. I think Kyle all season and even last year, he saw a lot of playing time just because of the injuries we had. The rest of those guys coming in, it's going to be timing - it's all timing. Once you get caught up with the speed and the timing of everything, you'll start being more effective. That's where we're at with those guys. They understand that. They're working their tails off, I'll tell you that - this team is working their tails off. We don't have anyone taking a back seat to anyone. I think everyone is competing. We're each doing our job a lot harder and that's what we need. We have to be able to win ballgames in November and December to be a good football team. Good football teams find a way to win. I think we have a good team here, I really do. We just have to work a little harder, especially now. You're in the middle of the season and you have 10, 11 teams in the AFC with similar records. Nothing is decided now. We definitely know we have to play better in November and December to set ourselves up for where we want to be. But we have to take it one game at a time. It's like we're starting 0-0 right now. The middle of the season and like I said, you're in the middle of the pack. We have to do a real good job of executing and preparation and being able to go out Sunday and put forth a good effort and see what happens then.

VW: It's not tough. We just have to continue to believe in what we're doing. I believe the last time we played the Jets, they were coming in on a two-game losing streak, on the road, and we ending up beating them then. But ever since then, they turned it around, they started playing better football - they got it together. Now the tides are turned. It says a lot about your team if you can stick together and play together and play good football. That's what we're here for - to play good football. I think we can do that, like I said. It's not like games we're getting blown out and it's not competitive. It's not like that. It's just small things that lead to big things and I think we need to clean those things up. Everyone understands that. I think we're all doing our job to make sure we have all the bases covered and we have to continue to move forward. What we have in this locker room is what we have. This is what we're going to ride with, what we're going to die with, what we have in this locker room. We have something good in that locker room. We all know that. Times are going to be tough, it's going to be tough. There's going to be hard times, there's going to be fun times, you're going to have all of that. It's a rollercoaster, everything doesn't work out smooth. That's part of nature, that's part of life, that's part of sports; it's not always going to be perfect. But when it's not perfect, what are you going to do? Will you be mentally tough and handle the situation or will you just fold and just give into the critics and give into everyone who says we can't do it? I have faith in this team, I really do. I really believe that these guys, all of us, are going to come to work and we're going to grind. We're going to grind for one another and it starts on the practice field. We had a good day of it yesterday and I think we need to have a better day today and a better day Friday and then Saturday going into Sunday. Make us feel like we're prepared and ready to go. That's where we're at as a team. 2ff7e9595c
